Title: What brought me here today
Tags:
Blog Entry:  I started out today with a full schedule of things I needed to do, my own agenda. I would need to run a few morning errands, wash the car, help my brother move one, perhaps two loads of furniture from storage to his new place in the next town down the road, and of course, vote. So many times we have heard , "God puts people in your path", and it was that person today he put in my path that has led me to this website. Many distractions during the day resulted in me scrubbing down a large garage shelf with a bucket and a toilet scrubber in the front yard rather than move it to the back yard first as I had intended to do. It needed reinforcing with more sheet metal screws, then my scrubber broke. I could sense my brothers tension escalating as I was not helping much with the moving. As dusk was setting in, a tall thin man with a pleasant disposition came walking by  and we exchanged small talk regarding used computer parts . During these brief few minutes he made reference about a significant person  from  his past. It so happened I knew this person very well, as a matter of fact, they would come over my house every Wednesday  for a rehearsal. In a matter of minutes, this chance encounter has scored him a computer as I so happen to have an older laptop I don't use any longer and he is able to reconnect with someone years out of his past . The two of them had connected in prayer during some of their darkest days of their pasts. These rough roads had given this stranger a gift of witnessing with a poetry and humility that we all three, knew, this was no coincidence that brought us to this moment. Then he said.,"We will remember this moment the rest of our lives," . I already had believed that before it was ever spoken. Had we moved that shelf to the backyard as planned, we may never have crossed paths, If the days distractions hadn't posed such obstacles, I would have been long gone to the polls to vote, which by this time had become insignificant and very small in importance compared to magnitude and impact of life altering change that this meeting could bring about. This stranger, whom by others, may have appeared to be just another homeless man , gave me the web address of this site as if to re focus my attention on where my priorities need to be if I am to do Gods will in my life. I don't recall ever  before when I have missed an election. I think I can be safe in assuming that mine wouldn't have been the deciding vote anyhow.
